MUMIFICATION IN EGYPT
Mumification means method of treating the dead bodies ,that the ancient Egyptian used so as to preserve bodies after death by deliberately drying to prevent bodies from decaying. This was common among the egyptians during the ancient time .
Mumification involved so long processes to conduct . Before mumification , Typically all internal organs were removed with the exception of the heart .In this case the heart was removed and the lungs were left intact .
After this the body was covered with salt in the maximum period of 40 days untill the moisture in the body eliminated or come to an end . Later , body perfumed oils and plant resins were rubbed on the body .
After this a thick layer of resins were applied to glue the strips of linen that were wrapped around the body , and after this the mummy placed on a wooden board and more wrappings bound them together.
A large linen cloth was wrapped around the mummy and the shroud painted red but this treatment is rare , very few red shroud nummies are known to exist I can say this is depend to the status of mummy.
Later the egyptian symbols of protection and rebirth were painted on the cutter cloth pigments and a gold , This symbols how ancient egyptian wealth they have . Finally ,herakheides name was written in greek language at the feet of the mummy.
